Direct fight in West Bengal between BJP and TMC, no place for CPI(M): Siddharth Nath Singh

Lashing out at former West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, BJP national secretary Siddharth Nath Singh today said that the political fight in the state is between TMC and BJP and there is no place in it for CPI(M), which has "become a non-entity".

Singh's comment comes in the wake of Bhattacharjee's remark that there is no place for the disciples of Ram in a land which was dominated by the Left for decades. The former chief minister's reference was to the saffron outfit. "Whenever there will be any torture in the land of Bengal, the disciples of Lord Ram will come here to free the masses from the torture and oppression. In Bengal, too, the people are tortured and so the disciples of Ram are here," Singh told PTI.

"In Bengal, the direct fight is between TMC and BJP; there is no place... for CPI(M) in this fight. The CPI(M) and the Left are no longer important in Bengal politics," Singh said.
