Elaborate security arrangements have been made in the city to prevent any untoward incidents during the Holi festival, official sources said today.
The sale of liquor has been prohibited during the festival and all the tation house officers (SHOs) have been directed to maintain extra vigil in their respective areas, sub divisional officer (SDO) Rajeev Kumar said.
Magistrates, police officers, including sub-inspectors, assistant sub-inspectors and constables, have been deployed in large numbers to maintain peace and harmony in sensitive areas like Sultanganj, Khajekalan, City Chowk and Alamganj, he said.
