Ensure justice, life of dignity for Bhopal gas tragedy survivors

Expressing solidarity with Bhopal gas tragedy survivors, civil society members today condemned government policies that led to industrial disasters.

"Bhopal disaster continues even today, at least one person dies every day in the area around the factory due to poisoned water, food, air and the genetic disorders induced in the survivors," they said on the 29th anniversary of Bhopal Gas Tragedy.

Senior journalist Kuldip Nayar, renowned photographer Raghu Rai, and several others gathered at Jantar Mantar here and stood in solidarity with the struggle of Bhopal survivors in their quest for justice.

The solidarity action was joined by members of National Alliance of People's Movements, All India Union of Forest Working People, Jan Sangharsh Vahini, Domestic Workers Union, Delhi Shahri Mahila Kamgar Union, Delhi Solidarity Group and many Delhi-based civil society organisations.
