Entire community not to blame because some go against tenets: P Chidambaram

The home minister said though Christianity, Islam and Zoroastrianism came from abroad, one could not term these as foreign religions.

Union home minister P Chidambaram today said an entire commnity cannot be blamed merely because some persons of a religion went against its tenets.

Participating in the Milad-un-nabi celebrations here, he pointed out that there are people who violate tenets in all religions. "All should not be blamed due to the action of some people," he said.

The minister said though Christianity, Islam and Zororastianism India came from abroad,one could not term these as foreign religions as many Indians were followers of these faiths.
   
The country should neither be divided on the basis of religion or violence in the name of religion,as all those who followed different faiths were Indians, he said.
