Observer and Research Foundation (ORF) Chairman and former BJP idealogue Sudheendra Kulkarni on Monday alleged that the Shiv Sena workers threw black ink at him for organising a book launch for the former Pakistani Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri.
Reacting to the incident, former Pak Minister said that he is extremely sad and upset at what's been done to Sudheendra Kulkarni. Kasuri said that he has been a political worker himself, hence he understands the importance of protest but they should be done in a peaceful manner.
Kasuri said that overwhelming majority in both India and Pakistan are in favour of good relationship but there are some who are against it.
Kasuri also told the press that he was neither a minister during Kargil nor during the 26/11 Mumbai attack.
Earlier Shiv Sena had opposed Kasuri's book launch and said that they will only allow it if the ex minister pays tribute to Indian soldiers who died in Pak firing. Due to threat from Sena, acclaimed artist Ghulam Ali's concert in Mumbai also got cancelled last week.
Foreign policy think tank ORF has organised a launch event for the former Pakistan foreign minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri's book and had said that it will continue as scheduled even after its chairman Kulkarni was attacked. Kasuri is scheduled to attend the launch of his book Neither a Hawk nor a Dove: An Insider's Account of Pakistan's Foreign Policy at 5.30 pm in Worli on Monday.
