Excise policy case: Arvind Kejriwal moves Delhi high court against arrest by CBI
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was produced in the court by the CBI after the end of his three-day custodial interrogation.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday moved the Delhi high court challenging his arrest by CBI and remand order in the ongoing excise policy case.
This comes after the AAP national convener was placed in judicial prison till July 12 by a Delhi court on Saturday. The CBI brought Kejriwal before the court following his three-day detention and questioning.
The CBI sought 14 days jail for Kejriwal, saying his incarceration was required "in the interest of the investigation and justice".
Special Judge Sunena Sharma accepted the plea and ordered Kejriwal to appear in court on July 12. In connection with a money laundering case involving the now-canceled policy, Kejriwal was detained by the ED on March 21. The Delhi High Court delayed the trial court's bail award to him.
