KANNUR: The youth arrested here for acting as a “recruiting” agent for a Kashmir-based terrorist outfit has confessed.

Faisal, who is lodged in the central prison here following his arrest on October 25, revealed he recruited a few hands from Kerala’s Malabar region and took them to places such as Hyderabad where terrorist outfits held training camps, a senior police officer said on Monday.

“We are yet to make a final assessment of how many people Faisal recruited,” Prince Abraham, member of the special squad investigating Kerala’s links with terrorist outfits in Jammu and Kashmir, said.

The exact number of people handed over to terrorist outfits would become clear only after a detailed investigation, he said.

Faisal admitted that Kerala youth Mohammed Fayas, 22, and Mohammed Fahis, 24, who were killed in army encounters in Kashmir earlier this month, were taken by him to Hyderabad on September 10.
