Despite challenges from divisive forces, India will continue to stay a strong country as long as justice is dispensed with Hindus, Muslims and other sections of society, he said.

Lashing out at fundamentalists for dividing people in the name of religion, Union minister Farooq Abdullah has advised them to give up their divisive politics for amity and peace.

"The fundamentalists divide people in the name of religion by exploiting the sentiments of masses," he said releasing a book "Shri Raghunath Mandir-Jammu" by KK Mishra at a function organised here by Jammu and Kashmir Dharmarth Trust last evening.

Despite the challenges from divisive forces, India will continue to stay a strong country as long as justice is dispensed with Hindus, Muslims and other sections of the society, the National Conference patron said.

"If somebody puts a 'tilak' on my forehead, the Jamat-e-Islami (JeI) leaders exploit the issue and will say that I have become a Hindu," he said, adding if a scholar like Karan Singh visits Sofi shrines, they take no time in exploiting this issue.

"But these exploiters who damage temples and mosques hardly realise that God is in the heart of every human being," he said, adding they must widen their thinking and give up the divisive politics for brotherhood and peace.

The Union minister for new and renewable energy promised to provide solar lighting system at Raghunath temple complex as has been proposed at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine.

Karan Singh, who was present on the occasion, said the people of the state have suffered for long and now India and Pakistan should settle all the issue between them.
