Homeopathic healthcare player Dr Batra's Positive Health Clinic today announced their first WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) enabled service for the public using mobile phones.
Titled 'mHealth', this service would help people get free consultation from Dr Batra's Clinics. Services on offer would include registration, case history in brief, online chat with doctors for medical queries, appointment requests and also for commencing or renewing treatment plans, Dr Akshay Batra, Managing Director of Dr Batra positive clinic, told reporters.
"This service targets people who have extremely hectic schedules as well as the general public. The enterprise makes sure that a qualified and recognised doctor is always available when required", he said. "Initially four doctors would offer their services through this mode. Later 300 Doctors would be enrolled," he said
People can visit www.drbatras.com for this service from GPRS enabled phones, he said. He claimed that this was the first-of-its kind initiative by a homoepathic organisation in India. Dr Akshay Batra later told PTI they would soon set up their fourth facility abroad, in London.
"Currently, we have three clinics - two in Dubai and one in Muscat,"he said but declined to give figures on proposed investment for the London project. Claiming that homeopathy sector was growing at 25 per cent a year, compared to allopathy at just five per cent, he said most of the company's business was from the South, followed by the Western region, the North and then the East.
He said the company planned to open 10 more branches in India this year. "Currently, we have 55 clinics across the country. We are also looking at Faridabad, Indore and suburbs of Mumbai", he said.
He said Dr Batra's Clinic's turnover last year was Rs 70 crore and they have set a target of achieving Rs100 crore this year.
