Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today asked officials to fix a meeting with the Uttar Pradesh government to resolve all kinds of inter- state issues, especially those concerning canal water and irrigation.

Khattar issued the directions in a meeting that reviewed the progress of the 'Chief Minister's Announcements in Faridabad and in Palwal districts' here.

He told his officers that there were many such issues in these and other districts that could be easily resolved through dialogue by organising meetings with Uttar Pradesh.

To speed-up execution of development projects, he asked officers to adopt a vertical rather than a horizontal approach for further expansion of health and educational infrastructure in the state.

The chief minister said schools and hospitals to be built in cities and big towns of the state should be multi-storey, an official release.

Norms, wherever required, should be revised for this purpose, Khattar said.

"The vertical approach for growth and expansion of health and educational infrastructure would require a lesser amount of land," he said.

The chief minister also directed the Town and Country Planning Department to develop a Haryana Urban Development Authority sector in Hodal on the lines of the Deen Dayal Jan Awas Yojana to provide affordable housing.
