Former AIB comic Utsav Chakraborty says 'I am sorry' after Twitter storm over sexual harassment

A day after deluge of angry tweets over sexual assault allegation, ex-AIB comic Utsav Chakraborty has finally apologized.

Chakraborty has been accused of sending explicit images of his genitals to several women, including minors on social media.

Though the ex-AIB comic remained defiant during morning sending tweets in all capital letters (which translates to shouting on social media), the near-noon tweet looks like an after-thought.

In morning he had tweeted, ‘Okay since everyone is out to get me in this whole narrative, let me repeat: I'VE NEVER ASKED AN UNDERAGE PERSON FOR NUDES. IF IT CAN BE PROVED IN *ANY WAY*, I'M READY TO TAKE THE DUE COURSE OF THE LAW. HOLY SHIT.’

‘We are also aware that by extending safe working spaces and a collaborative environment to people like Utsav, we have contributed towards a toxic environment that can be scary and unsafe for women. And so we are sorry for any part we may have played in the tolerance or furthering of such behaviour,’ AIB posted on Twitter. 'Also, a ton of rumours and allegations flying around suggesting Utsav is / was AIB’s Head Writer. Utsav was never our Head Writer. Also, Utsav has not been an employee at AIB since the end of 2016,' AIB said.

On Friday, #unsubscribeAIB was trending on Twitter.
