In what looks like another case of healthcare industry's failure, a third child in Delhi died on Wednesday night after suffering from dengue, reports NDTV. The child who had fever was denied from being tested for dengue. However, the report after her death confirmed she was indeed suffering from the disease.
Four year old Tanya had fever and stomach ache on Monday and was taken to a government hospital. The local clinic that tested her told them that her platelet count was alright.
However, Tanya's health deteriorated the next day and her parents took her to the same clinic to test for dengue. The clinic however refused to test her again.
The girl was taken to a government hospital, which allegedly went by the clinic's report and treated her for gastric issues.
The child's condition became serious and was taken to Saket City hospital. She went into shock and died of a cardiac arrest.
The city is shaken by two other children's deaths, Aman Sharma and Avinash Rout.
In Rout's case, he was not given a hospital bed. His parents committed suicide following his death. Fifteen people have died due to Dengue in Delhi
