The first look of the iconic Ganapati idol, Lalbaugcha Raja, was unveiled at Lalbaug locality in Mumbai today ahead of the Ganesh Chaturthi festival.

The iconic Ganesh idol even has its own Twitter id where the aarti on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi is live-streamed.

The Twitter handle Lalbaugcha Raja posted, "The moment for which all the devotees are eagerly awaiting, the First Look of #Lalbaugcharaja (photo session for the media) will take place today at 7 pm.Live streaming of the First Look will be available on Youtube, Facebook, Twitter and website."

A huge crowd of devotees gathered at Lalbagh to witness the unveiling of the most popular Sarvajanik Ganapati idols in Mumbai. The crowd was overjoyed and greeted with cheers.

In a year where India launched Chandrayaan II and became part of a select group of nations to carry out anti-satellite tests, the theme was fittingly space.

Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, the festival marking the birth of Ganesha will be celebrated on September 3 this year. The 10-day festival is marked with the installation of Ganesha idols privately in homes, or publicly in elaborate pandals.
