Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar allocates portfolios to ministers

Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar allocated portfolios to his ministers on Saturday. Most of the ministers were given the same portfolios as the ones they had held in the previous Manohar Parrikar cabinet.

Parsekar retained important portfolios of home, finance, personnel, education, vigilance and mines. Deputy Chief Minister Francis D'Souza was given health, revenue, town and country planning, urban development and law.

Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party's Ramkrishna alias Sudin Dhavalikar was given public works department, transport, river navigation, non-conventional energy. Senior BJP MLA Dayanand Mandrekar would be in-charge of panchayat, water resources, civil supplies and price control and art and culture departments.

BJP legislator Ramesh Tawadkar would look after agriculture, sports and youth affairs, tribal welfare, animal husbandry and veterinary services; Mahadev Naik gets industries, handicrafts, textile, social welfare and co-operation.

Dilip Parulekar will have tourism, women and child development, protocol and ports. Milind Naik got power including state electrical inspectorate, information and publicity, metrology and official language.

Alina Saldanha, the only woman in the cabinet, was given forest, environment and museum. Another MGP legislator Pandurang alias Deepak Dhavalikar was given factories and boilers, craftsmen training, printing and stationery departments.

Independent legislator Avertano Furtado would be in charge of labour and employment, fisheries; Goa Vikas Party legislator Francisco Micky Pacheco will look after rural development, archives and archaeology.
