Apart from this, the agreement will strengthen ties between the two institutes and foster collaboration in research. Till date, IIMA has nearly 60 such tie-ups with institutes from all over the world.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) in this regard will be signed on Wednesday on the IIMA campus between dean of HEC, Prof Bernard Ramanantsoa, and IIMA director Prof Samir Barua.

Under the student exchange programme, IIMA students will be able to spend a year at HEC School of Management (instead of just one term). Similarly, HEC students will also be able to spend a year at IIMA under the agreement.

Explaining the advantages of such tie-ups for students, an IIMA official said that the institute had many such tie-ups with European and US business schools.

“When students visit each other's campuses under student exchange programmes, they get an opportunity to be part of both a new campus and a new culture,” the official said. In addition, they also get an exposure to various new courses offered at the different institutes, he added.
