NEW DELHI: Taking serious view of some computer parts going missing from the headquarters of the Integrated Defence Services (IDS) here, Government on Saturday ordered a Court of Inquiry into the incident.

The government action came after a theft of 13 computer printer cartridges worth Rs 17,000 from the store room of the well-protected defence installation in the heart of the capital.

This is the second instance of theft in the highly- sensitive defence installation in the capital.

Two years ago, some computer hard disks were stolen from the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) office located at Metcalfe House in North Delhi.

An FIR was registered at the Chanakyapuri police station on July 25 regarding the theft after security officers at IDS headquarters in South Hutments at Kashmir House reported a break in one of the offices on July 24.

The officers informed the police that a room had been locked and sealed by the staff on the evening of July 21 (Friday) and when officers reopened it on July 24, the cartrdiges were found missing.

"Further action will follow after submission of the report of the Court of Inquiry," a Defence Ministry spokesman said here.
