The Gujarat Technological University (GTU) has announced the date for the PhD entrance test. The entrance exam will be conducted on April 29 and students have to submit a copy of online application before April 23, stated the varsity officials. Till now, more than 1,000 students have registered for the test.
As per GTU officials, the entrance test for PhD will be worth 100 marks and will follow Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) and multiple-choice questions (MCQ) format. Students will have to complete the exam paper within two hours.
“Students will need to score at least 50% marks for eligibility to pursue PhD. The norms remain the same for all the subjects. The results are valid for two years. Students who have cleared entrance exam in 2011 need not appear for the exam again but need to appear for interview with research proposal,” said a senior GTU official.
The exam will be conducted at the LD engineering college in Ahmedabad. Students will need to submit documents like self-attested marksheet and certificate of under-graduate and post-graduate degrees, certificate of equivalent percentage from relevant universities, brief of research proposal, demand draft and caste certificate.
