MM Jani raided Shayona International School after parents complained that the school authorities had announced to hike the fee by 30%.

Shayona International School, which is in news these days for its recent decision to hike fee, got a rude shock on Thursday when the District Primary Education Officer (DPEO) came to the school to check its facilities and accounts.

DPEO, MM Jani, raided the school to check if the fee hike is justified. During the raid, Jani checked various facilities and amenities available at the school. The DPEO raided the school after parents complained on Wednesday that the school authorities had announced to hike the fee by 30%.

School principal Dolly Pathak and trustee Suresh Patel were asked to be present in DPEO's office with school documents. "We will check the expenditures of the school against the fees received and will then decide whether the fee hike proposal is justified. We will be able to announce it by Friday if the school authorities should hike the fee,'' said Jani.

Meanwhile, the parents on Thursday evening held a meeting at AUDA garden near RC Technical Institute. At the meeting, the parents discussed their future course of action. Sanjay Shah, a parent, said: "On Friday, we will conduct a silent rally from the school at 8:00 am."

On Saturday, every parent will wear white dress and put black ribbon on their hands and will gather in front of the school. Also, the children in uniform will be present with their parents.

On Sunday, the parents will meet again to decide the future course of action.

On Monday, when the school will re-open, the parents will stop the children from entering the school and no student of English medium will be allowed to enter the school to attend the classes. Shah said that on Monday the students of Gujarati medium will have exams but the parents will ensure that they are not disturbed.

Various associations have showed their support to the parents fighting against Shayona School. Parents Association of Tripada International School, Gujarati Parents Association, Mahagujarat Parents Association, and National Students Union of India have extended their support.
