The bookies in the state are betting their money on master blaster Sachin Tendulkar and Mumbai Indians (MI) are the favourite to win the IPL-3. Their second choice is Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
The bookies have rated Mumbai Indians at the top among the four teams selected for the IPL semi finals. With Sachin Tendulkar in great form and Mumbai Indians putting up a stellar performance, the bookies have been forced to fix the rate for the team between Rs2.15 and Rs2.30.
A bookie on condition of anonymity told DNA that MI has the best chance of winning the IPL-3 season. MI is followed by Chennai which has been rated at Rs2.70 to Rs2.85. "MS Dhoni's form is the reason why Chennai is at number two on the bookies list," a bookie said.
He also said that the probability of MI and CSK making it to the finals is the highest. CSK is followed by Royal Challengers Bangalore (Rs3.25 to Rs2.45) and former IPL-2 champions Deccan Chargers (Rs4.15 to Rs4.40).
Bookies said that the possibility of a final between RCB and DC is the least. The satta betting on the third season of IPL is believed to have registered some of the largest bets in the recent past.
Sources in the satta betting circle revealed that on an average around Rs2000 crore was at stake on several IPL matches.
The back to back cricket season ensured that the bookies remain busy for a long time.
"It is the win-win situation for everyone and the number of punters too increased due to the many cricket matches scheduled on a daily basis," a bookie told DNA.
