Bharatiya Kisan Sangh (BKS) leaders were taken aback when many of the farmers in the audience stood up and asked why the leaders were not talking about the issues pending with the Gujarat government.

Around 250 farmers then moved to the back side of the stage and started shouting slogans against Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi.

However, the BKS leaders managed to clam down the crowd by reading out the memorandum of demands that was to be submitted to the chief minister later.

Talking about the issues, Amit Patel, a farmer from Dakor, said: “Gujarat farmers are facing the issues of electricity supply, water, disputes with food grain merchants, etc. We have not come here to listen to their speeches, we want them to go to the CM and talk to him about our issues.”
