Justice KS Jhaveri of Gujarat high court, on Tuesday, issued bailable warrants against Registrar and Controller of Examination of Mumbai-based SNDT Women’s university over an issue of not conducting examination for the BEd course. The court has asked both top officials to remain present before it on November 6.

“The court has issued warrants against officials of SNDT university as they failed to comply with orders to hold examination and remain present before the court,” said SNDT university, counsel for the group of self-financed colleges which are affiliated with the university.

As per cast details, over 25 self-financed colleges in the state have affiliation with the university for its BEd course. These colleges approached Gujarat high court seeking to direct the university to conduct exams for their students.

The university has not conducted exams on the ground that the colleges had not taken approval of their students while granting admission and filling up examination forms. The colleges, meanwhile, maintained that they need not take any approval and they had already informed the university about students after enrolling them.
