On Friday, Justice JB Pardiwala of Gujarat high court issued a stay order on investigation of the complaint filed against suspended IAS officer Pradip Sharma. It was in connection with the case of allotting plots at lower rates at Gandhidham in Kutch district.

Sharma filed a petition in the high court to quash the complaint filed against him by the CID (Crime) in Rajkot. Earlier, justices AS Dave and KM Thaker had refused to deal with this matter, after which it was put before justice JB Pardiwala.

SV Raju, Sharma's counsel, submitted before the court that the officer had been falsely implicated in the case and earlier also he faced a few criminal complaints lodged by the state police.

Raju said that the police had lodged the complaint six years after the alleged incident of allotting plots at lower rates took place.
