Gujarat university techno-cultural fest ends

Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU), Gandhinagar concluded its second annual techno-cultural festival, Flare 2011 on Sunday. The festival commenced on April 15 with a stunning performance by folk-fusion band Jaipur Beats.

The three-day festival featured a variety of events-treasure hunt, LAN gaming, roadies, quick-o-cuisine, Rangoli, pot painting, shoe painting, combustion and the music event on April 16.

Students from colleges like DA-IICT, Nirma University, Kalol Institute of Technology, IDOL, Ganpath University, Ujjain University among others.

'Battle of Bots' was organized by the in-house robotics club 'Cretus'. Events such as 'AMALGAMATION' and 'ILLUMINATI' also made it to the event's list.

While the former was for school children, the latter was a paper presentation competition.

'GO GREEN', an initiative taken by the Indian Youth Climate Network (IYCN), was a part of the social responsibility campaign that PDPU had undertaken. Events on April 16 came to an end with a performance by a rock band, 'Highway 61'.
