Gurdaspur terror attack: Trains running between Amritsar-Pathankot route cancelled

Three civilians, four police personnel and two militants have been killed until now in the attack.

Other three trains have been partially cancelled.

Six trains running on the Amritsar-Pathankot route have been cancelled after the police recovered bombs on the railway tracks following the Gurdaspur terror attack.

According to a press release, the Amritsar-Pathankot Ravi Express (14633), Amritsar-Pathankot DMU train which was scheduled to depart from Amritsar at 12.20 pm and Pathankot-Jalandhar City DMU train scheduled to depart at 05.25 pm today have been cancelled.

Other trains like 74673 Amritsar- Pathankot DMU  train, 54614  Pathankot –Amritsar passenger train scheduled to depart from Pathankot at 08.00 a.m., 14634  Pathankot –Amritsar Ravi Express train scheduled to depart from Pathankot at 02.20 pm remain cancelled too. 

The following trains remain partially cancelled too:

-The 54611 Amritsar-Pathankot passenger train will remain partially cancelled between Gurdaspur- Pathankot .
-The 54613 Amritsar-Pathankot passenger train will remain partially cancelled between Batala- Pathankot .
-The 54612 Pathankot-Amritsar Passenger train will remain partially cancelled between Jakolari-Amritsar.

Meanwhile, security has been enhanced across Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir in the wake of the attack, which has so far claimed the lives of 10 people, including six civilians.

Security has also been beefed up at the North and South Block.

The Special Forces team has reached the location of the terror attack, which has been cordoned off.
