H1N1 claims two more lives in Surat

According to information, Budhiya Patel, 21, a resident of Jalalpore in Navsari died while undergoing treatment at Mahavir Cardiac Hospital on Tuesday.

Swine flu has claimed two more lives in Surat on Tuesday including that of a one-year-old kid. One patient was tested positive, while eight patients with suspected H1N1 were traced during medical examination. With this, the death toll due to swine flu has touched 13 in Surat and 28 in state.

According to information, Budhiya Patel, 21, a resident of Jalalpore in Navsari died while undergoing treatment at Mahavir Cardiac Hospital on Tuesday.  Patel was tested positive for swine flu and was given treatment. He died within an hour after he was admitted to the hospital. It is still not clear as to how Patel was infected with the deadly virus.

Doctors have given treatment to family members of the deceased. Rohit Vasawa, a resident of Sarthana Jakatnaka died due to swine flu at SMIMER Hospital on Tuesday.
Rohit was admitted with symptoms of bad cough, sore throat and high fever. Doctors failed to save him and he breathed his last on early morning on Tuesday.

With these two deaths, the total number of patients who have died due to swine flu is now 13. Eight more suspected patients were admitted to various hospitals in the city, while one patient was tested positive for swine flu.
