Hathras case: Viral audio clips claim victim's family being asked to 'wait for Rahul, Priyanka to arrive'

The audios reveal the politics being played in the matter that has sparked outrage across the country.

In what has raised questions against the Congress party's in the Hathras case, two new audio tapes have gone viral in which some people are said to be talking to the victim's family and asking them to wait for the arrival of Congress leaders.

In the purported audios, the victim's family is being asked to speak against the Uttar Pradesh Police as well as the Yogi Adityanath government in front of media. The people in the clips can also be heard asking the family to wait for the arrival of Congress leaders Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi before making the statement.

In one of the clips, some unknown people are asking the victim's brother Sandeep to stay at home until Priyanka Gandhi arrives. The person talking to the victim's family is also heard suggesting them not to settle for Rs 25 lakh but to ask for Rs 50 lakh compensation.

The audios reveal the politics being played in the matter that has sparked outrage across the country.

DNA India does not confirm the veracity of both audio clips.

Two days ago, Rahul Gandhi Gandhi was roughed up while marching towards Hathras to meet the victim's family. He will once again attempt to go to the Uttar Pradesh district on Saturday along with several party leaders.

A party leader said that the Congress delegation led by Rahul Gandhi will meet the family members to hear their grievances and demand justice for the victim and her family, who have been denied justice and left severely traumatized by the BJP government in their desperate attempt to hide the truth of the heinous crime perpetrated on the victim.

On Friday, Priyanka Gandhi attended a prayer meeting at the Valmiki temple for the Hathras rape victim and said that the family of the woman 'should not feel alone'.

On Thursday, Rahul Gandhi along with Priyanka Gandhi tried to go to Hathras, however, they were not allowed to pass the Gautam Buddha Nagar district and their vehicles were stopped on the Yamuna Expressway.

The 19-year-old Dalit woman was allegedly gang-raped in Hathras by four men. She died at Delhi's Safdarjung hospital on Tuesday morning.
