SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir High Court on Wednesday issued a notice to the state government to file a reply within two days in connection with the sex scandal case that has rocked the Kashmir Valley.
Hearing a public interest petition filed in the case, Justice Hakim Imtiyaz Hussain directed state Chief Secretary Vijay Bakaya and Director-General of Police Gopal Sharma to be present in the court on Friday.
The PIL was filed by the J&K High Court Bar Association and Justice B A Kirmani of the court had taken suo motu cognizance of media reports about the sex racket case.
The state government has ordered a CBI probe into the allegations by two teenaged girls of involvement of senior politicians and bureaucrats in the prostitution and pornography racket that surfaced in downtown Srinagar in March.
