Himachal tourism staffer held for fraud in Ahmedabad

Based on a complaint filed by a senior officer of Himachal Tourism Corporation, Navrangpura police arrested one Nitesh Patel, a grade-IV employee working at the corporation’s office at Shilp-2 near Income Tax junction on Ashram road.

Devraj Thakur, a resident of Neel-Harsh apartment in Vasna, works as senior officer with Himachal Tourism Corporation’s office in Ahmedabad. On Saturday, Thakur approached Navrangpura police and lodged a complaint against their employee Nitesh Patel, a resident of Padmawati society in Nava Naroda.

Thakur alleged that Patel conducted a fraud between October 2010 and August 2012 by altering figures in the pay slip and submitting bogus vouchers. Through this, he withdrew Rs38,000 from the corporation’s bank account. Navrangpura police arrested Patel on Sunday.
