Upset over Shashi Tharoor’s 'Hindu Pakistan' statement, the Aligarh Muslim Youth Association has announced a reward of Rs 11000 to anyone who blackens the face of the former Union Minister and senior Congress leaders Shashi Tharoor.
Meanwhile, a complaint has been lodged against Shashi Tharoor at the Gomtinagar Police Station in Lucknow by a Muslim intellectual and advocate Rizwan Ahmad for allegedly making a 'provocative statement'.
The complainant alleges that Tharoor’s controversial statement was against the Constitution and treason charges should be slapped on him. The SSP Kalanidhi Naithani said that since the statement was issued in Kerala, the Lucknow Police was checking with their counterparts if any FIR was lodged there.
“We have not registered any FIR yet. We are verifying the complaint with Kerala Police and then will take a decision on registering a case against the person who has issued the statement,” said the SSP Lucknow.
The Aligarh Muslim Youth Association President Amir Rashid charged Shashi Tharoor with hurting the sentiments of the people of the country, particularly Hindus. “His statement was against the secular character of the country and an attack on the cultural and social fabric of the country. He abused Hindus and tried to create a divide in the society in the name of vote-bank politics. People will not forgive him for his divisive statement,” alleged Rashid.
He announced a reward of Rs 11000 to anyone who blackens the face of Shashi Tharoor for his 'Hindu Pakistan' statement.
