SRINAGAR: Hizbul Mujahideen on Friday dismissed reports that the international terror network al Qaeda has set up its base in J&K.
"Al-Qaeda had neither any base in Jammu and Kashmir in the past nor does it have any at present," a spokesman of Hizbul said in a statement to a local news agency.
A man identifying himself as the head of the Indian network of al Qaeda had reportedly called up a news agency in Srinagar on Thursday claiming that the terror outfit had set up its base in the state.
