Union home ministry is closely monitoring if there is any external or internal institution extending support to Maoists, external affairs minister SM Krishna said today.
Krishna's remarks came in response to a query whether there was any suspicion about external support to recent attacks involving Maoists including today's alleged sabotage of Mumbai-bound express train in which over 70 passengers were
killed and 200 injured in West Bengal's West Midnapore district.
"In all such incidents, which could also be accidents, the home ministry is continuously monitoring if there is any role of any institution internally or any institution which is externally encouraging, abetting and creating confusion and restlessness in India," he said.
"The home ministry and other agencies of the government will keep a close watch on these developments," Krishna said.
On the train accident, he said it would not be fair on his part to be judgmental till the preliminary inquiry report is received.
