Huge quantity of explosives seized in Gaya, 3 Maoists held

Acting on a tip-off, a police team assisted by the Special Task Force of Bihar Police raided three places in Gaya district last night, City SP Satyavir Singh said.

Three Maoists were arrested and 500 quintals of explosives recovered from them in Bihar's Gaya and Jehanbad districts, police said on Friday.

Police seized five drums (500 quintals) explosive, besides three country-made pistols and cash worth Rs4.75 lakh during the operations, he said.

Police also raided some areas in adjoining Jehanabad district and picked up five suspected Maoists who were being interrogated, Singh added.
