Prime accused in the Gulbarg Society massacre Maangilal Jain and Madan Chawaal told a Tehelka undercover reporter that they surrounded Congress legislator Ehsaan Jafri’s flat in Gulbarg Society and set it afire.

“He could do nothing and got burnt,” said Jain. But Chawaal claimed that in his last moments Jafri peeped out of the window of his house pleading with the rioters to spare his life and showing them a bundle of money.

“I told him you come out and we can see,” claimed Chawaal. “As soon as he came out I pushed him back into the house and chopped him up. The money just flew from his hands. Whoever wanted the money took it.”

Jain and Chawaal claimed that Modi supported them throughout. “Jafri phoned Sonia, Modi and Pande (police commissioner),” said Jain. “None of them could help him.”
