Abhishek Singh was a 2011-batch IAS officer who also ventured into the entertainment industry and acted in several films. His work in Netflix's acclaimed series "Delhi Crime" earned him recognition. He was also seen in short film, Chaar Pandrah and has also fetaured in B Praak’s song Dil Tod Ke.

Abhishek Singh belongs to Uttar Pradesh's Jaunpur, while his wife Durga Shakti Nagpal is the District Magistrate (DM) of Banda district.

A few days ago, he organised a grand event of Ganeshotsav in Jaunpur in which some film stars from Mumbai also participated. This programme is being seen as a run-up to his preparation to contest the Lok Sabha elections 2024.

In 2022 after being taken off the Gujarat election duty, Abhishek Singh said that he accepted the Election Commission's decision with 'all humility'.

In a tweet, Singh had clarified, "Though I believe there's nothing wrong in this post. A public servant, in a car bought by public's money, reporting for public duty, with public officials, communicating it to the public. It is neither publicity nor a stunt."

Abhishek Singh's IAS journey

In 2015, Abhishek Singh was given a deputation in Delhi Government for three years. In 2018 it was extended for two years. However, in between he went on a medical leave because of this, the Delhi government sent him to his parent cadre i.e. Uttar Pradesh on March 19, 2020. He didn't join the duty in UP for a long time.
