The Punjab deputy chief minister described the Congress as th e "fountainhead of black money and corruption in the country."

Accusing Congress-led UPA of shying away from revealing names of those who have stashed away money in tax havens abroad, Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today said all the ill-gotten wealth from scams like second-generation mobile telephony spectrum was salted away in Swiss banks.

"The Congress is dragging its feet on this issue... the fact is that all ill-gotten money worth lakhs of crores in various scams including 2G mobile bandwidth has been stashed in Swiss bank accounts," Badal, who heads ruling Shiromani Akali Dal in the state, alleged.

He described the Congress as the "fountainhead of black money and corruption in the country."

He said that any law to give amnesty to black money holders or Swiss bank account holders was not acceptable "as it amounted to legalizing crime".

Earlier, addressing a rally here after dedicating projects worth Rs117 crore to people of Hoshiarpur including Rs102 crore underground sewerage projects, Badal said Punjab under the SAD-BJP government had made "unprecedented progress in all areas that has made Congress party jittery".

Responding to the charges levelled from time to time by various Congress leaders that the SAD-BJP Government had failed on all fronts, Sukhbir said they were feeling jittery and "raising a hue and cry on non issues which reflects their frustration".
