IMD weather update: Heavy rainfall predicted in Telangana for next 3 days, orange alert issued, check full list

The IMD had earlier issued an orange alert for Telangana on Monday and Tuesday. Heavy rain warning has been issued in some districts of Sangareddy, the western part of Medak, and some parts of Jagitial, Karimnagar, Pedapalli, and adjoining areas.

The India Meteorological Department on Monday issued an orange alert predicting light to moderate rain at most places during the next three days in Telangana.

According to Dr K Nagaratna, Director, Metrological Centre, Hyderabad, "The upper air circulation at present indicates a cyclonic circulation over west-central Bay and adjoining areas of Andhra Pradesh. It is expected to intensify into a low-pressure area in the next 24 hours. A trough runs from Northeast Bay of Bengal up to Andhra Pradesh. Under its influence, light to moderate rain is very likely at most places over Telangana during the next three days and thereafter at many places.”

Incidentally, the IMD had earlier issued an orange alert for Telangana on Monday and Tuesday. Heavy rain warning has been issued in some districts of Sangareddy, the western part of Medak, and some parts of Jagitial, Karimnagar, Pedapalli, and adjoining areas.

Hyderabad also experienced sudden heavy rain with thunder and lightning from 5 am on Sunday. Due to heavy rains, many areas of the city were submerged.

“The city is likely to receive moderate rain at times, one or two spells of heavy rain,” Nagaratna said.

Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, and Mahe may encounter this sort of weather from Monday through Friday, while coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Telangana can anticipate it through Thursday. The weather forecast agency said that these circumstances will likely be present in Rayalaseema today and tomorrow, North Interior Karnataka today, September 6 and 7, Coastal and South Interior Karnataka from Wednesday till Friday, and South Interior Karnataka on September 6 and 7.
