Independence Day 2023: Who are the 1800 special guests invited to hear PM Modi’s address at Red Fort?

PM Modi is set to address the nation at Red Fort on August 15 as part of the Independence Day celebrations, and 1800 special guests have been invited for the joyous occasion.

The Independence Day 2023 celebrations are set to take place tomorrow, August 15, across the nation, and will kick off when Prime Minister Narendra Modi unfurls the national flag at the Red Fort in the morning. To watch the ceremony, 1800 special guests have been invited to the Red Fort in Delhi.

The national capital has been adorned with the tricolour to mark the celebrations of the 76th Independence Day of the country, and the Centre has invited 1800 special guests to witness the speech of PM Modi at Red Fort tomorrow.

The Defence Ministry revealed that the 1800 special guests have been invited to the Red Fort in line with the vision of ‘Jan Bhagidari’, urging the entire country to participate in the celebration by inviting common workers and professionals to the special I-Day celebrations.

According to the official statement of the Centre, 400 sarpanches have been invited to represent their 660 vibrant villages. Apart from this, 250 farmers have been invited who are a part of the PM Kisan Yojana.

Other invited special guests include 50 participants each of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana; 50 Shram Yogis (construction workers) of the Central Vista Project, including the New Parliament Building; 50 each Khadi workers, those involved in construction of border roads, making of Amrit Sarovar and Har Ghar Jal Yojana.

Apart from these special guests, dozens of primary school teachers, nurses and fishermen have been invited to Red Fort for tomorrow’s ceremony. Further, some of these special guests will also visit the National War Memorial as part of their stay in Delhi.

Further, the Delhi Police has already issued a security and traffic advisory for August 15, and the Delhi Metro timings for Independence Day 2023 morning have also been changed. It must be noted that PM Modi will be unfurling the national flag after 7:30 am on August 15 morning.
