As per the latest ranking of the world's best airlines by Skytrax, a review body, Indigo has been voted as the world’s fifth best low-cost airline in 2021.
Skytrax’s World Airline Awards are based on customer surveys where airlines are ranked based on votes from travellers around the world. The latest rankings are based on a survey which collected data from air travellers between September 2019 and July 2021.
The survey consisted of questions on airline performance and quality from a pool of 350 airlines from around the world.
Qatar Airways was voted as the Airline of the Year 2021, followed by Singapore Airlines and Japan’s ANA All Nippon Airways.
In the best low-cost airline segment where IndiGo stands fifth, AirAsia took the top spot followed by US’ Southwest Airlines, Singapore’s Scoot, Spain’s Vueling Airlines before Indian low-cost segment leader IndiGo.
Among other segments, the world’s best Long Haul Low-Cost Airline went to Scoot.
