Private flight carrier Indigo has suspended the their daily flight operations from Kolkata to Shillong starting from Friday (April 23), airport authorities said on Thursday (April 22).
The flight operations will remain suspended from Friday (April 23) to April 30, 2021. The airport officials have not given any reason for the flight suspension, however, they have urged customers to contact the airlines regarding any queries on rescheduling or refund.
“All passengers are hereby informed that M/s. Indigo Airlines @IndiGo6E has suspended their #Shillong operations from 23rd April to 30th April, 2021. M/s. Indigo Airlines may be contacted for any query on #rescheduling or #refund," AAI Shilling Airport wrote in a tweet.
The budget airlines operates its flights to Shillong only from Kolkata. After remaining shut for nearly 10 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the carrier resumed flight services on this route in February 2021.
Currently, there are 746 active cases in Shillong. Meanwhile, the Meghalaya government has decided to shut down all colleges and universities in the state till May 3, 2021. Gyms, swimming pools, gaming parlours, cinemas, clubs, salons and bars in Shillong will also remain closed till April 30.
