City police add towing vehicle search a new feature to citizen cop app.

Stop wondering if you don’t find your vehicle at the place where you parked it. Well, a citizen cop application will inform you if your vehicle has been towed away by traffic police in case of parking violation. The information will also be made available on its website.

The 'towing vehicle search' is a recent addition to the application by Indore Police to keep the citizenry informed if their vehicle has been towed away for parking wrongly. At a press conference, Inspector General of Police, Vipin Maheshwari said, "The system will now tell 'the violator' whereabouts of his or her vehicle if it has been confiscated by police for violation."

The suggestion of having such an option in the application came from a student during traffic awareness drives by police at schools. Several citizens also had this grievance that they do not come to know if their vehicle was stolen or been taken away by traffic police.

Maheshwari said, "Every towing van operator will capture a snap of the wrongly parked vehicle and upload it on the server with its number."

'The violator' can press the 'towing vehicle search' button and get information about his vehicle. The person can also visit its website 'www.citizencop.org' to find out about his vehicle.

The application have been launched by Indore police two months ago to empower every common man to be a powerful citizen cop and join hands with police in stopping crime. It helps the users in reporting a crime by just capturing the image and directly sending it to police.
