A day after he was booked for allegedly misbehaving with a woman IAS officer, Samajwadi Party MLA Irfan Solanki claimed there was political conspiracy to defame him.

Solanki said the case was secretly registered two days after the incident and was a political conspiracy to defame him.

The matter had been resolved on the same day, so there was no need for an FIR, he added.

He threatened to protest after a case was registered against him and his 20 associates.

On June 15, Solanki and his co-workers had barged into the office of managing director, Kanpur Electricity Supply Company (KESCO),
Ritu Maheshwari, with complaints against the department.

They indulged in heated arguments with the official and allegedly mistreated her, Colonel Ganj circle officer Onkar Singh Yadav said.

After District Magistrate Hari Om intervened, the matter was put to rest following an apology from the legislator.

A case was lodged yesterday by executive engineer Ashok Kumar against Solanki and others.

However, warning Solanki against such protest, the DM said violence will not be tolerated and the law-breakers will
be dealt severely.
