Rajya Sabha member Amar Singh on Tuesday ridiculed former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav’s claim that the bungalow was renovated with his own money and calling the Samajwadi Party Chief a ‘cheap’ and ‘frivolous’ person.

In a strong-worded tweet, Singh said: “I too had a government accommodation as MP and I spent my own money for renovating it. When I vacated the bungalow, I left it unaltered. There should be an impartial inquiry against Akhiesh Yadav for the destruction in bungalow because it’s a government property. Shame on you Akhilesh Yadav.”

Later talking to media, Singh said that “Akhilesh Yadav should let the people know from where he got this kind of money (Rs 42 crore) to splurge on his bungalow.”

“He should answer whose money was spent on the renovation of the bungalow. Is he a Socialist, Capitalist, Opportunist or has he used ill-gotten money of rapist Gayatri Prajapati to lead a luxurious life,” Singh added.

Amar Singh demanded that Yadav provide details of the money he had spent from his own pocket and how he had earned it and had he paid taxes on it. “If the state government had spent the money on his bungalow renovation then he had no right to plunder the bungalow before vacating it,” quipped he.

Calling Yadav a ‘cheap’ and ‘frivolous’ person, Singh further said that he doesn’t like his father, his family and when Supreme Court orders him to vacate his bungalow then like a child he plundered it. “I don’t know when will he mature as a politician. He will never succeed in politics if he did not change his child-like behavior,” pointed Singh.
