BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is building his own army of aam adami (common man) who will work for him voluntarily in every nook and corner of the country to help the party achieve Mission-272. Interestingly, these volunteers have no political background but are Modibhakts belonging to various walks of life.
The initiative was taken a few months ago with the launch of a web portal Mission-272, an indigenous programme inviting people to come up with ideas to promote Brand Modi in their respective locality. The aim behind this exercise was that the best idea would be selected and volunteers would be asked to implement their ideas in their respective localities.
Among these volunteers, the best 35 were shortlisted on the merits of their works and were then called for four-hour interaction with Modi in New Delhi on Thursday. During the interaction many of these volunteers were nominated as parliamentary coordinators who will work in their respective constituencies directly under Modi, without any intervention from the state BJP.
From Rajasthan only two volunteers were shortlisted, one each from Jodhpur and Jaipur and both are now in Team Modi to work for him.
From Jaipur Narendra Katara, a resident of Lal Kothi Scheme who runs an institute has been selected. An ardent Modi fan, Katara said, “I joined the programme Mission 272 a few months back and submitted various ideas on the website to promote Brand Modi in my locality. I worked on them and fortunately I got a call from Delhi saying Modi wants to meet me for personal interaction on Thursday,” said an elated Katara. “It was a fruitful session with Modi and I have been appointed as parliamentary coordinator for Jaipur and will work to achieve Modi’s target to achieve 272 seats in Lok Sabha elections,” he added.
