In a bid to promote sports in the state, the Jammu and Kashmir government today said it has decided to construct stadia at all tehsils and district headquarters.
     "The government has conceived an ambitious programme to construct stadia and playing fields in all district and tehsil headquarters in the state in a phased manner, besides imparting training to youth in various sports activities," youth services and sports minister RS Chib said at a function at Aru-Pahalgam, 96 km from Srinagar, in Anantnag district.
     The minister said the matter of fencing and upgrading the play fields would be taken up with the deputy commissioners concerned.
     Chib said his department would approach the education ministry for posting adequate teaching staff at state-run schools.
