Members of the Sikh community today blocked Jammu-Pathankot National Highway in protest against an incident of alleged ill treatment of a Sikh youth.
Around 100 members of the community blocked the highway at Rajbagh, about 80km from Jammu, in the Kathua district
for about half an hour, disrupting traffic.
They raised slogans against the state government and also burnt the effigy of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah during the protest.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) and several Kashmiri pandit organisations have condemned the incident that occurred on Wednesday.
They demanded stern action against the culprits and asked members of other communities to condemn such incidents.
