NEW DELHI: Shooter Jaspal Rana on Sunday ruled out contesting the coming assembly elections in his home state of Uttaranchal.
"No," he told media when asked if he would contest assembly polls. He was speaking on the sidelines of a peace march organised by All India Anti-Terrorist Front of M S Bitta here.
Reports had earlier suggested he was likely to contest the polls in Uttaranchal on a BJP ticket.
Rana was honoured by top BJP leaders Atal Bihari Vajpayee, L K Advani and Rajnath Singh during the party's recent national council meeting in Lucknow.
Rana's sister is the daughter-in-law of BJP chief Rajanth Singh.
