JD(S) leader Suraj Revanna granted conditional bail in sexual abuse case

Suraj Revanna was detained in relation to a reported sexual assault case against a man, and he was charged under the Indian Penal Code's Sections 377, 342, 506, and 34.

A Karnataka court has granted bail to Suraj Revanna, JD(S) MLC, brother of Prajwal Revanna, in connection with a case alleging sexual abuse. On Monday, a People's Representative Court granted Revanna conditional bail. She was accused of violating multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The Hassan police detained Suraj Revanna on June 23 after he was accused of sodomising a party worker.

Suraj Revanna was detained in relation to a reported sexual assault case against a man, and he was charged under the Indian Penal Code's Sections 377, 342, 506, and 34. On July 9, a special court in Bengaluru denied JD(S) MLC Suraj Revanna's request for bail in the sodomy case.
 
JD(S) MLC Karnataka Police filed charges against Suraj Revanna for allegedly having sex with a party worker without permission. The man accused Suraj Revanna of sexually abusing him at his farmhouse and filed a complaint against him at the Holenarasipura police station in the Hassan district on Saturday.
 
On June 16, at Suraj Revanna's farmhouse, Chethan KS, a JD(S) employee, alleged that Suraj Revanna had sexually assaulted him.
 
After the allegation, Shivakumar, a close aide to Suraj Revanna, claimed that the employee was trying to coerce Suraj Revanna into paying money by making unfounded accusations of sexual assault. Later on, the extortion demand is purportedly lowered to ₹2 crore.
 
The police detained Suraj Revanna on suspicion of "unnatural offences" after receiving a complaint from Chethan K S.
