Making everyone proud, Nanded boy, Parth Laturia whose All India Rank (AIR) is 3 became topper of Maharashtra. All six All India Ranker have the same score of 350/360.
However, Laturia chose to appear from Kota because he always wanted to prepare for his IIT-JEE from Kota.
Parth scored 120/120 in Maths and 115/120 in Physics and Chemistry respectively. Laturia's parents are doctors. Mother Seema is a paediatrician and father Satish is a general physician. His has a younger sister who will now appear for class10 from the new academic year.
Parth said, "I am very happy with my score. I decided to come to Kota with my friend who also appeared for JEE with me. In class 11 I joined Disha Delphi Public School (CBSE). My parents and my friend's mother would take turns to look after us in the rented house here. I left badminton and cricket just to concentrate on my entrance exams. I wish to join IIT-Bombay to study computer science. I always liked Maths and Physics that pulled me to engineering instead of a doctor's career like my parents."
Happy with Parth score Dr Seema, Parth's mother said, "Since all six toppers in all India have scored same marks, I feel my son is also a first rank holder and not third. From childhood, he has been very sincere and regular in his studies and never keeps anything pending. His memory is very sharp and this can be seen on his entrance exams."
Other Mumbai toppers are Tathagat Verma (AIR 34) and Avyakta Wrat (AIR 516).
Tathagat Verma from Powai was surprised on topping the list. He said, "I knew I will score better. But I am surprised that I have topped in Mumbai. But that was my target. I am a swimmer as well as a football player, but I left all my curricular activities to give time for this entrance test after Class 8."
He gives credit for his success to his family and Pace junior college where he was for his HSC. Tathagat's father is a mechanical engineer. He said that he is not much into social media like Facebook or Instagram, but used WhatsApp to clear his doubts with his teachers. Tathagat wishes to take up Computer Science at IIT Bombay.
Avyakta Wrat, a student of Pace junior college is Maharashtra topper in IIT-JEE (Mains) declared today. Speaking to DNA she said, "I give credit of my success to my mother and the entire Pace team. Of course one needs to work hard and sincerely give time to studies that's one of the success mantras. But I never sacrificed anything to come on top of the list. I always enjoyed my life and studied side by side. I started preparing for this entrance exam from my grade 9. I will appear for JEE Advance and want to seek admission in IIT-Bombay in computer science."
