J&K: Three civilians killed in terror attack on GREF camp in Akhnoor
3 civilians working as labourers with General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF) killed in a terror attack close to LoC in Akhnoor sector of Jammu district
At least three General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF) personnel were killed in an attack on their camp in Jammu and Kashmir's Akhnoor on Monday.
It was a GREF platoon located two kilometres from the Line of Control in Akhnoor.
Gun shots were heard near the GREF camp and the area has been cordoned off.
The GREF is the parent cadre force of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) that builds and maintains border roads in the country.
Troops along with the police have cordoned off the area and a counter operation has started, they said.
A senior police officer said all routes to the area have been plugged and the operation is in full swing.
