George Joseph, a senior journalist, died in Delhi early this morning after a cardiac arrest.
Joseph, 57, had worked with several newspapers like Indian Express and Times of India and was at present the Political Editor of news agency IANS.
He suffered a heart attack on Sunday at his home in Vaishali and was rushed to a hospital in NOIDA.
He underwent a surgery yesterday but his condition worsened late in the night and breathed his last this morning, his family said.
Jospeh is survived by his journalist-wife Aasha Khosa and a daughter.
He began his career in 1980 with National Herald before moving to Times of India.
During his stint in Srinagar for Indian Express, he was once abducted by Kashmir militants but was later released.
He had also worked for Malayalam TV channel Jeevan TV.
His body will be flown to Kerala for the last rites tomorrow.
